Dr. James Bicksel is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and is part of the Georgetown Memory Disorders Program. He is board certified in Neurology, with additional subspecialty board certification in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry. He practices in the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Center for Neurodegenerative Disease in Mclean, Virginia. He has been involved in the implementation of MedStar Georgetown's infusion center in Mclean, where his group infuses the new disease modifying therapies for Alzheimer's Disease, Kisunla and Leqembi. He has helped develop protocols to follow patients for the development of Amyloid Related Imaging Abnormalities (ARIA) related to the use of these new agents. He refers patients for clinical trials at the Georgetown Memory Disorders Program, helping them become part of the trials after they have become stable on Kisunla or Leqembi. He works closely with the movement disorder specialists at Georgetown, helping with treatment of Lewy Body Disease, Parkinson's Disease Dementia, and other degenerative diseases with overlapping motor and cognitive manifestations.
