About me
Yasar Torres Yaghi, MD is a board-certified neurologist at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC and Co-Director of the Lewy Body Dementia Clinic. He obtained his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, and subsequently completed his residency and fellowship training at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. In his role as a movement disorder specialist, he is spearheading an initiative to care for the growing population of aging patients with neurodegenerative conditions characterized by overlapping features of both cognitive impairment and Parkinson’s. His research focus is in neurodegeneration and movement disorders such as Lewy body dementia and Parkinson disease. Additionally, he evaluates patients with Alzheimer’s disease, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Huntington disease. In addition to caring for patients in clinic and teaching medical students, his goal has been a career in combining research and clinical work.
