About me
I’m Renia Kodabak and I recently joined Georgetown Neurology as a clinical social worker. Before becoming part of Georgetown team, I was an inpatient social worker who served various patient population. From patients’ hospital admission to discharge to home or community, I have continuously offered support and guidance throughout their most challenging times in life. In my new role as a social worker in a movement disorder clinic, my vision is to run support groups and to delve into the unique challenges that come with this progressive disease and its impact on patients’ families and relationship dynamics. In our clinic, I work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to address the evolving needs of our patients and their care partners. Part of my work is to ensure our patients work on maintaining or improving their quality of life, learn how to manage their day to day life with their new “normal”, provide guidance on future care planning and to ensure they are well connected with their community resources.
