Cherian Abraham Karunapuzha, MD, is the medical director and a consultant neurologist at the Meinders Center for Movement Disorders in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He received his medical degree from the Medical College Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Government Medical College in Kerala, India, and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He completed his residency in adult neurology and a fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Movement Disorder Society, and the Tourette Association of America.
Dr. Karunapuzha’s research interests focus on epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and migraine. He has presented at many conferences nationally and regionally such as the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Industry Therapeutic Update Annual Conference 2023, the American Academy of Neurology Industry Therapeutic Update Annual Conference 2023, the Davis Phinney Foundation National Symposium 2021, the Parkinson’s Foundation of Oklahoma Annual Symposium 2022, and Oklahoma Parkinson Conference 2024. He has published papers and articles on Parkinson’s disease psychosis.
