Joohi Jimenez-Shahed, MD is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Medical Director of Movement Disorders Neuromodulation and Brain Circuit Therapeutics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, completed her Neurology residency at Duke University Medical Center, and returned to Baylor for fellowship training in Movement Disorders. Dr. Jimenez-Shahed’s research focuses on the neurophysiology of patients undergoing deep brain stimulation for movement disorders and the use of wearable and digital health technologies for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. She is actively involved in national Parkinson’s disease research initiatives and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Parkinson Study Group, a board member of the International Association of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders, and on the Council of the Deep Brain Stimulation Society.
